Becka Viglianti

Becca210x320Instructor/Choreographer –Rebecca is a graduate of Slippery Rock University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance, Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education, and a Masters degree in Special Education.  While being a dance major at Slippery Rock University, Rebecca has worked with and performed in various pieces choreographed by SRU faculty members.  Additionally, she was a member of Melissa Teodore’s Afro-Columbian Dance Ensemble.  She has performed in a piece titled “Of the Earth Far Below” choreographed by renowned guest artist, Doug Varone.  Rebecca also had an opportunity to perform at the American College Dance Festival in 2010.  During her college career, Rebecca has choreographed for the Jazz and Tap Ensemble and SRU Dance Theatre.  She was a student director for SRU’s Rock Dance Company; a company that spends their time giving lecture and dance demonstrations to local schools.  Rebecca has received the Joanne McKeag Dance and Education scholarship. She was also awarded the “Outstanding Teacher Award” by Slippery Rock University’s Dance Department.  Rebecca, in addition to her studies, has trained at the American Dance Festival, Jones Summer Dance Intensive, and the Point Park University International Summer Dance Program.  Rebecca spent most of her pre-collegiate dance career at Art of Dance.  While being a student at Art of Dance, she performed in Walt Disney World, the Thanksgiving Day Parade in Philadelphia, and the Cherry Blossom Parade in Washington, DC.  Rebecca has been teaching dance for over 3 years throughout studios located in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.  She is continuing to improve her knowledge of dance technique and pedagogy through taking classes and workshops.  Rebecca wishes to carry forward her passion of dance to students of all ages and abilities and is honored to be an Art of Dance teacher to continue this dream!
